Rene Russo set to join Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones for Villa Capri

June 11, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting that Nightcrawler star Rene Russo is in talks to join the upcoming action comedy Villa Capri, which would see her reunite with her Tin Cup director Ron Shelton.

Shelton, who also helmed Bull Durham and White Men Can’t Jump, has written the script as well as taking on directing duties, and the film will follow the story of “an ex-FBI agent and an attorney who is in the witness protection program who have to put aside their petty differences to fend off a mob hit.”

Already signed up to the project are Oscar winners Morgan Freeman (Now You See Me 2) and Tommy Lee Jones (Criminal) who will play the attorney and former FBI agent respectively. Filming is said to take place soon with an August 2017 release set.
