Natalie Portman thinks she’s done with Marvel

August 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in May Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed that Natalie Portman’s Dr. Jane Foster will be absent from the God of Thunder’s third solo movie Thor: Ragnarok, and it looks as though we may have seen the last of the Oscar-winning actress in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“As far as I know I’m done,” Portman told the Wall Street Journal when asked if she’ll be back in a future Marvel movie. “I don’t know if maybe one day they’ll ask for an Avengers 7 or whatever, I have no idea. But as far as I know I’m done.”

It’s thought that the majority of Thor: Ragnarok will take place in other realms to Midgard, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to explain her absence. However, any Jane Foster fans hoping we may have got to see her wielding Mjolnir in the future may be a little disappointed by the news… unless they’re saving that for Avengers 7.

It is set for release on November 3rd, 2017.
