September 29, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in November of last year, Kenneth Branagh boarded 20th Century Fox’s Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express, with the studio setting a release date of November 10th 2017.

The project seemed to be coming together earlier this year when Angelina Jolie joined the project, only to drop out last month, and now THR is reporting that Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer are among a list of “names of interest”, although both are yet to officially attach themselves to the film.

With a little over a year to go before its planned release, Fox is starting to face a race against time in order to put together its all-star cast for the film alongside Branagh, who portraying master detective Hercule Poirot as well as directing.
