Supergirl producer on whether we’ll see Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman back on The CW

October 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

The CW scored a rather impressive coup when it managed to persuade DC to allow the Man of Steel to appear on the small screen, with former Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin taking on the role of Superman for a guest appearance in the first two episodes of Supergirl season two. Naturally there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether we’ll see further appearances from the Last Son of Krypton, or even perhaps a Superman spinoff show, and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has been chatting to Kryptonsite about the chances of that happening.

“We’re so happy with what we get to do. I don’t mean for that to sounds as bad as it does, but we asked if we could have Superman in the first episode, and DC and Warner Bros. said ‘you could have him for the first two episodes’ and we were like ‘great!’ I’m not going to sit here and say that there’s never going to be a world in which there’s a Superman TV show and that Tyler’s going to star in it — I don’t know what the future holds, but right now that’s not our focus. Right now, we’re working on Supergirl, which is the flagship, and we’re working on a way for Tyler to reprise the role. That’s really what our focus is: on Supergirl.”
