Pacific Rim sequel officially titled Maelstrom, production underway

John Boyega has officially announced over on his Instagram that the title for the Pacific Rim sequel is Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, confirming one of the many rumoured titles for the film. Furthermore, production officially starts today in Sydney, Australia as Boyega also said “First day on Pacific Rim today. Here’s to great adventures ahead”.

Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is set for release on February 23rd 2018 with Steven DeKnight (Daredevil) directing a cast that includes John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Adria Arjona (True Detective), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Cailee Spaeny (Counting to 1,000), Levi Meaden (Aftermath) and Jing Tian (Police Story: Lockdown).
