Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway in talks for Steven Knight’s Serenity

January 28, 2017 by Gary Collinson

According to Deadline, Interstellar co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are in talks to join the “sexy noir” Serenity, which is being written and directed by Steven Knight (Locke, Taboo).

The site reports that the project is set to begin shooting in the summer and tells “mysterious tale of a fishing boat captain whose past is about to crash up against his life on a small island in the Caribbean, ensnaring him in a new reality that might not be all it seems.”

McConaughey can currently be seen in Gold, and is set to portray The Man in Black in this summer’s Stephen King adaptation The Dark Tower. Hathaway next appears in the action sci-fi Colossal, and has recently shot the Ocean’s Eleven spinoff sequel Ocean’s Eight.
