Sentinels to feature in Marvel’s X-Men TV series

January 18, 2017 by Gary Collinson

While the upcoming X-Men TV series Legion won’t be (fully) connected to 20th Century Fox’s movie universe, Marvel and Fox have confirmed that the upcoming pilot for Matt Nix’s (Burn Notice) potential series will take place in the same world as the feature films, and now producer Lauren Shuler Donner has revealed that the Sentinels will be making an appearance.

“Matt’s is much more a part of just the world in terms of there are mutants, mutants are hated and there are Sentinels — though very different from what we’ve seen before”, said Donner. “You feel like you’re here in the X-Men world.”

Donner was also asked about the possibility of any familiar faces from the movies showing up in the series, responding that:

“It depends. The feature side comes first, unfortunately, because it’s established. They’re our characters, so they come first, and as we decide feature world where we’re going, there are certain characters we know we won’t get into or if we do get into, it’s OK to have them have an appearance.”

Details on the pilot are being kept under wraps, but it has been revealed that it will revolve around “two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”
