Dave Bautista joins Jodie Foster in sci-fi Hotel Artemis

February 12, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has signed on to star alongside Jodie Foster in the sci-fi Hotel Artemis, which marks the directorial debut of Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation screenwriter Drew Pearce.

“Mr. Bautista is a force to be reckoned with — a powerful presence who’s equal parts strength and soulfulness,” said Pearce in a statement. “I’m a true fan, and it’s a privilege to have him in the world of Hotel Artemis.”

EW reports that the film sees Foster playing “a nurse in the near future who runs an underground hospital for sinister criminals in Los Angeles. She soon discovers one of her charges has a hidden agenda: to assassinate another patient.”

Former WWE star Bautista is currently shooting Avengers: Infinity War, and has two big sci-fi projects arriving this year in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049.
