Ian McShane says Game of Thrones fans need to “get a f*cking life”

February 25, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last year Ian McShane drew the ire of Game of Thrones fans, firstly by revealing a pretty big spoiler surrounding the return of fan favourite character The Hound, before responding to online complaints by describing the epic fantasy series as “only tits and wizards”.

Well, he’s probably not going to endear himself to fans too much with his latest comments, telling Empire (via EW) that anyone who was upset about his spoiler-dropping need to “get a fucking life.”

“Can you believe it?,” said McShane. “‘Oh, you’re giving it away.’ Firstly, you love it and secondly, you’ll have forgotten by the time it comes out. And what am I giving away? A character beloved by everybody returns. Get a fucking life. The show is huge but some fans seem to identify with it [too closely]. You want to say, ‘Have you thought about your lifestyle? Maybe you should get out a little more.'”

McShane probably isn’t going to get along too well with Maisie Williams, who said last month that it grinds her gears when information is leaked about the show.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its seventh season this summer.
