Joe Manganiello and Marley Shelton joining Dwayne Johnson in Rampage

February 13, 2017 by Gary Collinson

The cast of New Line’s video game adaptation Rampage looks to be coming together, with THR reporting that Joe Manganiello (True Blood) and Marley Shelton (Solace) are in final negotiations to join Dwayne Johnson (The Fate of the Furious) and Naomie Harris (Moonlight) in the film.

Rampage will reunite Johnson with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and San Andreas director Brad Peyton, and while plot details are being kept under wraps, the film will feature the video game’s three creatures – the gorilla, crocodile and wolf – who wreak havoc on various North American cities and landmarks.

Johnson is set to play an animal-loving hero and “the world’s only hope”, with Harris as a geneticist with a moral streak, Manganiello the leader of a private military group, and Shelton a scientist and astronaut. Production is slated to get underway soon for a release on April 20th 2018.
