Logan director would love to be involved with an X-23 movie

February 17, 2017 by Robert Kojder

As Logan draws closer and closer to its release date, the cast and crew of the Wolverine solo movie are out doing the press rounds, and speaking to We Got This Covered, Logan director James Mangold spoke about the possibility of further developing the future X-Men world by doing a film centered the young mutant X-23.

“I think Dafne [Keen] is incredible in the film and I would love to see another film about that character and that’s certainly something I’d be involved in,” said Mangold. “For me that was one of the big additions I brought to the table, this decision to try to make the film about family and to try to insert Laura and the pressures that would put and the idea about Charles ailing.”

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Logan is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal. It is set for release on March 1st in the UK and March 3rd in North America.
