Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott join House of Cards for season 5

February 9, 2017 by Justin Cook

Actors Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott will be diving into the cutthroat world of Washington D.C. politics for House of Cards season 5, according to Entertainment Weekly. Netflix revealed the casting news at a press event in New York City yesterday, where a number of announcements were made about their upcoming shows.

Take a look at three brand new images released by the platform; the first and second show Clarkson as she sits down to speak with Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood and the third highlights Campbell as he seems to be getting down to business with Joel Kinnaman’s Will Conway…

No details about either of these two new characters have surfaced, but the stills above suggest that they’ll be on opposite sides of the political spectrum/Underwood-Conway presidential election.

Clarkson is an Academy Award nominee known for a number of projects, including The Green Mile, Jumanji, Good Night, and Good Luck., Easy A and The Maze Runner. On the other hand, most would probably recognize Scott from his roles as Richard Parker in the Amazing Spider-Man films and Boris on Royal Pains.

House of Cards has become a staple of Netflix, not only because it was the first original series produced by the company to get a true following, but also because it has managed to maintain that following over the course of four seasons.

Also returning for the upcoming season are actors Kevin Spacey, Michael Kelly, Paul Sparks and Neve Campbell. Prepare for the new season to hit the streaming service on May 30th; in the meantime, check out the first teaser.
