Star Wars Land set to open in Disney parks in 2019

February 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

If you’ve been eagerly-awaiting a date when you can pack your suitcase and transport yourself to a galaxy far, far away courtesy of Disney’s Star Wars Land attractions at Disneyland or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you’ll be excited to hear that Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger has revealed that the themed lands will be opening in 2019.

Iger made the announcement during an investor conference call, with the official Disneyparks website then posting the following:

As we’ve shared, the Star Wars-themed lands are the largest-ever, single-themed land expansions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. At each location, guests will be transported to a never-before-seen planet – a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space – where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life. Check out some of our earlier images, including a glimpse at one of the signature attractions which lets you take the controls of the Millennium Falcon!
