Sylvester Stallone’s Escape Plan 2 finds its director

February 8, 2017 by Samuel Brace

There was something nostalgic about 2013 prison thriller Escape Plan and the sequel to the movie that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone has now found its director.

The original film’s plot centred on a high security prison as its inmates to try to break out. The film wasn’t exactly met with critical acclaim but that hasn’t stopped EFO from putting together a sequel.

We know that Stallone is on board and now according to The Tracking Board, action movie director Steven C. Miller (The Aggressions Scale, Marauders, Arsenal) has come on board to direct the movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not expected to appear.

The script is by the pen of Miles Chapman, the writer of the original Escape Plan. And apparently there will be some Chinese elements to the story per China distributor Leomus Pictures, with the aim of making it more accessible to its target audience.

The initial film made more money in China than it did in the US — $41 million compared to £25 million respectively.
