Temuera Morrison in talks to play Aquaman’s father

February 3, 2017 by Ricky Church

The last couple weeks have seen several actors join James Wan’s Aquaman, and now The Hollywood Reporter has said that Moana‘s Temuera Morrison – best known for playing Jango Fett and the Clone Troopers in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clone and Revenge of the Sith – is being courted to star in the film as Aquaman’s father, Thomas Curry.

Aquaman’s production is really starting to gear up with these announcements. Earlier this week reports came that Warner Bros. offered roles to Nicole Kidman as the hero’s mother and The Get Down’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as villain Black Manta. This also comes after last month’s news that Patrick Wilson will be Aquaman’s half-brother and villain Orm, better known as Ocean Master.

If all this casting does come to pass, this will be Morrison and Kidman’s re-entry into the DC universe. Morrison previously starred in 2011’s Green Lantern as Abin Sur while Kidman starred as Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever over 20 years ago.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman arrives on October 5th, 2018 and is currently gearing up for production. It stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, and Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko.
