SyFy renews The Expanse for third season

March 17, 2017 by Ricky Church

Fans of The Expanse should be pleased as SyFy has announced that it has renewed the series for a third season. Currently in its second season, The Expanse will return with 13 episodes in early 2018.

“The Expanse is a gorgeous, thrilling, emotional series that has quite simply raised the bar for science fiction on television,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “We, along with the fans, are looking forward to continuing the journey with our partners at Alcon Television Group and the series’ brilliant cast and crew.”

Taking place 200 years in the future, humanity has colonized Mars and other areas of the solar system. AS tensions rise between the political powers of Earth, Mars and the Belt, a pilot and a detective become unwittingly involved in a vast conspiracy that will shake the foundations of the solar system.

Based on The Expanse book series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, writing together under the name James S. Corey, the series stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham and Frankie Adams.
