Adam Sandler and Chris Rock set for The Week Of at Netflix

April 26, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Adam Sandler has set his next Netflix feature, with Deadline reporting that he’ll be joined by Chris Rock in The Week Of, which is being directed by Robert Smigel, writer of Hotel Transylvania and regular Happy Madison collaborator.

The fourth film in Sandler’s initial Netflix deal after The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over and Sandy Wexler, The Week Of follows the week of preparation for a wedding in which Sandler’s character’s daughter marries Rock’s character’s son.

“Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are cornerstones of the Netflix comedy family, and we are over the moon about these two legends reuniting to give our members worldwide a healthy dose of the hilarity that they have been creating together for years,” said Netflix’s Ted Sarandos. “Similar in the romantic comedy tone of Sandler’s most recent film Sandy Wexler, this film will be the perfect vehicle for Sandler and Rock and their millions of fans around the world.”

Adam Sandler has recently signed a new four-film deal with Netflix, while the streaming giant revealed that subscribers have spent over half a billion hours watching his films since the release of The Ridiculous 6.
