Greg Rucka to adapt his comic book The Old Guard for Skydance

April 1, 2017 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Skydance Productions has picked up the rights to Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez’s new Image Comics series The Old Guard, tapping Rucka to pen a script for the movie adaptation.

The Old Guard follows “a small group of soldiers, led by a woman named Andy, who are inexplicably immortal and have been working as mercenaries through the ages. The novelty of not dying long gone, the group gets a jolt in their bones when they discover the existence of a new immortal, a black woman serving in the Marines, at the same time as a nefarious organization captures their undying actions on camera.”

The comic series launched last month, and issue #2 is available in comic book stores now.

Originally published April 1, 2017. Updated April 15, 2018.
