John Ridley to write and direct A Needle in a Timestack

April 17, 2017 by Gary Collinson

American Crime creator John Ridley is set to write and direct the sci-fi time travel tale A Needle in a Timestack for Miramax, Variety has revealed. The project is based on a short story by Robert Silverberg and follows ” a devoted husband who will stop at nothing to save his marriage when it’s destroyed by a time-traveling rival.”

Ridley – who won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for 12 Years a Slave – is currently serving as showrunner and executive producer on the third season of American Crime, while his new show Guerrilla premiered on Sky Atlantic on Friday.

This past week, Ridley also signed on to reunite with American Crime star Regina King for No Place Safe, and has also been developing a mystery Marvel project for ABC for several years, although it is unclear whether that is still in active development.
