Tobey Maguire to make directorial debut with Jo Nesbo’s Blood on Snow

April 9, 2017 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Tobey Maguire will make his directorial debut with Blood on Snow, an adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s 2015 crime thriller novel, which is being produced by Material and Grey Matter Productions.

Blood on Snow “centers on Olav, a contract killer in Oslo who, when instructed to kill his adulterous wife, falls into a meditation on death and love, and opts instead to pursue his boss’ rival.” Nesbo is also attached to handle scriptwriting duties.

An adaptation of Nesbo’s The Snowman is set for release in October, with Michael Fassbender starring and Tomas Alfredson directing. Denis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal are also attached to an adaptation of The Son, while Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are adapting the upcoming novel I Am Victor for director Baltasar Kormakur.
