Doug Liman exits Justice League Dark, It director rumored to step in

May 24, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Director Doug Liman was recently very vocal about the upcoming DCEU film Justice League Dark, explaining how different in tone the movie would be from the typical comic book film, and also the classic horror movies that would serve as inspiration. Which is why it now comes as such a surprise that the director has abruptly decided to exit the project.

According to Variety, the departure is not personal, but is simply due to scheduling conflicts; Liman is attached to direct Lionsgate’s Chaos Walking, starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland.

This leaves a vacant seat in the director’s chair, but perhaps not for long. Borys Kit over at the Hollywood Reporter recently sent out this Tweet:

Studio is already looking for new director on JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, with one source saying IT director Andy Muschietti is on the list.

Andres Muschietti is an intriguing choice, especially for a movie like Justice League Dark. In fact, this would give the movie an indirect connection to the movies first director, Guillermo del Toro, as both filmmakers collaborated on 2013’s Mama.

Would you like to see Muschietti taking over directorial duties on Justice League Dark? Let us know in the comments below…
