Jonah Hill to star in Uncut Gems from executive producer Martin Scorsese

May 20, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following hot on the heels of the news that Jonah Hill is reuniting with his Superbad co-star Michael Cera for Adult Swim’s animated pilot Shivering Truth, Variety is reporting that the actor has signed on to star in the upcoming thriller Uncut Gems.

Uncut Gems is being directed by Joshua and Benny Safdie (Good Time) from a script by the Safdies and Ronald Bronstein, with Martin Scorsese executive producing. It will also reunite Jonah Hill with Scott Rudin, producer on Hill’s upcoming directorial debut Mid ’90s. Plot details are scarce, but it’s said that the film is set to take place in the New York City Diamond District.

Hill will next be seen alongside his Wolf of Wall Street co-star Leonardo DiCaprio in The Ballad of Richard Jewell, and will also reunite with Superbad’s Emma Stone for the TV series Maniac.
