Tom Holland wants to adapt the Spider-Man Clone Saga to the big screen

June 28, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland may very well be the most vocal actor in Hollywood right now, although that is perhaps to be expected considering Spider-Man: Homecoming releases next week.

We have heard about his 20 year plan to play Spider-Man, his aspirations to play both James Bond and Batman, as well as learning that his MCU Spider-Man arc will be a trilogy, and most recently that Peter Parker makes an appearance in Iron Man 2 (confirming a long held fan-theory). So what else does Tom Holland have to say? In an interview with Cinema Blend, the actor reveals a story arc that he would love to see in future Spider-Man films.

“It would be so cool…I could play seven characters. That means seven checks! And I like the idea of having characters in front of Spider-Man who have the same powers as him…It would make sense, because cloning is more or less coming true. It would make sense to talk about that. Like a villain who would say, ‘This kid has super powers, I want twenty like him who fight for me. I’ll take one of his hairs and try to clone him.’ And obviously, it would go wrong!”

That would definitely be a great story to tell on screen. For starters, it’s one that hasn’t been told before, and it also has nothing to do with Green Goblin. Would you like to see the Spider-Man Clone Saga explored in future movies? Let us know in the comments below…

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming sees Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei reprising their roles from Captain America: Civil War as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Aunt May, alongside Marvel veterans Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Chris Evans as Captain America. New additions to the cast include Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine, Tyne Daly, Michael Barbieri, Abraham Attah, Hannibal Buress, Kenneth Choi, Angourie Rice, Michael Chernus, Michael Mando, Logan Marshall-Green and Jennifer Connelly.
