Avengers: Infinity War will explore the relationship between Vision and Scarlet Witch, says Elizabeth Olsen

July 27, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The relationship between characters Vision and Scarlet Witch will be explored more deeply during Avengers: Infinity War.

The two characters have had a long-standing relationship in Marvel’s comic book universe, and the two eventually married one another in the limited series, The Vision and Scarlet Witch.

Their relationship has been touched on so far in the cinematic universe, mostly during Captain America: Civil War.

Much of the upcoming Avengers movie is a mystery, apart from Thanos kicking ass and taking names. But the actress behind Scarlet Witch, Elisabeth Olsen, has told We Got This Covered that the relationship between the two characters will be further developed in the film.

“In any other world I would say, ‘I don’t know,’ but because there are paparazzi photos that kind of spoil things for fans – I think it’s safe to say that we now get to explore that part of the comic book. We get to introduce and really explore their relationship. It creates a really exciting arc for me and I’m so lucky I get to work with (Paul) Bettany all the time now. [laughs]”

Olsen isn’t wrong about the on-set photos that often get leaked regarding big films such as this, so this little spoiler from the actress hopefully won’t get her in too much trouble with the studio heads.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Benicio Del Toro (The Collector), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Peter Dinklage and Terry Notary in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
