Christopher Nolan has one important condition for directing a James Bond film

July 10, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Rumors of Christopher Nolan helming a James Bond film have been around since Skyfall at least, and it’s no secret that the director has had talks with producers about stepping aboard. After all, it seems like a great pairing, and it is something that fans want.

After the luke-warm reception to Spectre, many fans want Christopher Nolan to save the franchise with the next 007 film. Through all of this, however, we haven’t heard much from Christopher Nolan himself. Talking to Playboy recently, the director revealed a key condition that needs to be met for him to consider directing a film in the James Bond franchise.

“A Bond movie, definitely. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”

So, it seems Christopher Nolan would only be interested should he get the opportunity to reinvent the series, and with rumors that Daniel Craig is returning for Bond 25, it seems like a Nolan-helmed 007 film could still be some way away. What do you think? Should Nolan direct Bond 25, or is he best saved for a franchise reboot? Let u know in the comments below…
