Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon set for new TV drama series

July 30, 2017 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Jennifer Aniston is set for a return to the small screen alongside Reese Witherspoon in a new as-yet-untitled drama series about the world of morning TV shows and the larger New York media scene they inhabit.

The project is being spearheaded by Michael Ellenberg, former head of drama at HBO, and is being scripted by Jay Carson (House of Cards), with Steve Kloves (Harry Potter) serving as executive producer alongside Aniston and Witherspoon. The package is set to be taken out to prospective outlets such as HBO and Netflix, with significant interest expected.

Witherspoon is coming off the back of an Emmy nomination for her role in HBO’s Big Little Lies, and previously appeared with Aniston in Friends, where she guest starred as Rachel’s younger sister Jill.
