Microsoft says Steven Spielberg’s live-action Halo series is still in development

July 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Way back in 2013, Microsoft announced that it was teaming up with Steven Spielberg to develop a live-action TV adaptation of the blockbuster Halo video game franchise.

Four years later, and said series is still yet to materialise. However, it seems the project remains in development, with AR12 receiving the following response from Microsoft and 343 Industries when enquiring about its status:

“Progress on the Halo Television Series continues. We want to ensure we’re doing this the right way together with a team of creative partners (Steven Spielberg and Showtime) that can help us build the best Halo series that fans expect and deserve. We have no further details to share at this time.”

The Halo TV series which initially slated to launch around the same time as the release of Halo 5: Guardians, so I guess we’ll have to see whether there’s any movement on the project ahead of the next instalment in the video game series.
