Adam Driver teases an “unexpected” Kylo Ren development in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

August 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

With the marketing for Star Wars: The Last Jedi starting to heat up ahead of its December release, Adam Driver has been speaking about returning to the role of Ben Solo – a.k.a. Kylo Ren – teasing an “unexpected” development for the fallen Jedi.

Asked by Sunday Today host Willie Geist (via THR) if fans “will be happy with what happens to Kylo”, Driver responded that: “God, I hope. I think it will be hopefully unexpected.”

Details on Kylo Ren’s involvement in the plot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi have been kept tightly under wraps, so we can only speculate as to what this unexpected development might be: Could he add his mother Leia Organa or uncle Luke Skywalker to his list of kills? Might he turn on Supreme Leader Snoke and come back to the Light Side? Or could he even tempt Rey to the Dark Side?
