Josh Brolin praises his Deadpool 2 co-star Ryan Reynolds

August 29, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Josh Brolin has praised the talents and personality of his Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds.

Anticipation is building for the sequel to the foul-mouthed, R-rated, surprise hit superhero film Deadpool. And many are wondering if the film will be able to re-capture the magic of the initial outing.

One actor brought on board to help achieve that goal is Josh Brolin, who will be portraying fan favourite character Cable. But Brolin has been praising the talents of another actor, his co-star, Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

“He’s an amazing guy, very smart and really sweet — and really handsome,” Brolin told EW. “He’s a smart guy, he’s the one who saw this and tried to get this movie made for eight years and was unable to. I think he has such a perfect sensibility. He’s a great producer on it, there’s a lot to trust there.”

Recently, the set of Deadpool 2 sadly experienced a tragic event when a stuntwoman died from her injuries sustained during a motorcycle stunt.

“We had that tragedy happen recently, which was awful,” Brolin said. “We’re all still reeling from that, but other than that it’s been great. I think both of us are good at creating a set of trust and fun.”

Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder) alongside new additions Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino, Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) as Cable, Jack Kesy (The Strain) as the film’s villain, and Shioli Kutsuna (The Outsider), Eddie Marsan (Atomic Blonde) and Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on June 1st 2018.
