Ryan Reynolds wants an R-rated Deadpool and Avengers crossover

August 26, 2017 by Gary Collinson

This is one we can presumably file away safely in the “ain’t gonna happen drawer”, but Ryan Reynolds has revealed that he’d like to see Deadpool teaming up with The Avengers for an R-rated crossover between the Merc with a Mouth and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea,” Reynolds told Total Film. “Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”

Reynolds isn’t the first X-Men star to express his interest in a Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover, with Hugh Jackman even stating he’d be tempted back as Wolverine if Logan got to team up with the Avengers. However, even if there was an unlikely deal between Marvel Studios and Fox, it’s hard to imagine that Marvel would be too keen on putting its heroes into an R-rated scenario. Still, it would surely be fun if it did come together…
