Sam Rockwell to play George W. Bush in Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney biopic

Sam Rockwell is in final talks to take on the role of President George W. Bush in Backseat, writer-director Adam McKay’s upcoming biopic of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

The film will see Christian Bale leading the cast a Cheney, as it chronicles his life from avoiding the draft for the Vietnam War through his rise to CEO of multinational corporation Halliburton, and his stint in office as the Vice President under George W. Bush.

Also set to feature in the cast are Steve Carell as Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Amy Adams as Cheney’s wife Lynne, and Bill Pullman as Nelson Rockefeller. Production is slated to get underway in September.
