Marvel’s X-Men series The Gifted scores almost 5 million viewers with premiere

October 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

On Monday night, Fox launched its latest comic book adaptation with the premiere of Marvel’s X-Men series The Gifted.

Coming off the back of decent reviews [read ours here], the new show managed to score a decent 1.5 rating in the key 18-49 demo, with 4.9 million viewers in Live+ Same Day numbers.

Fox will no doubt be hoping that the series manages to maintain these numbers, particularly as Gotham has slumped to series lows with its new fourth season.

The Gifted also managed to top the premiere of Marvel’s other new show, with Inhumans premiering to a 0.9 rating and 3.9 million viewers on ABC last week.

The Gifted features a cast that includes Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Amy Acker (Person of Interest), Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham), Emma Dumont (Pretty Little Liars), Jamie Chung (Gotham), Blair Redford (Switched at Birth), Sean Teale (Incorporated), Coby Bell (Burn Notice), Joseph Morgan (The Originals), Elena Satine (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Garret Dillahunt (The Guest Book) and Jermaine Rivers (MacGyver).
