The Batman’s Matt Reeves developing cop drama from Hell on Wheels creators

October 5, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Matt Reeves is producing a cop drama for Fox from the creators of Hell on Wheels.

Reeves, who is set to write and direct The Batman – taking over the reins from Ben Affleck – is set to add another plate to his table as Variety has learned that he will be executive producing The Dime for Fox.

The show is based on the novel of the same name from New York Times bestselling author Kathleen Kent. The Dime is set to be a one hour drama following the exploits of a Brooklyn cop.

Variety’s synopsis for the show reads:

“The one-hour drama follows Brooklyn cop Betty Rhyzyck, a tough as nails firebrand, who moves with her girlfriend to Dallas to lead a group of detectives. Their more traditional sensibilities are a far cry from her blue state mentality and in order to survive, Betty and her team will have to put aside their differences.”

A script has been ordered for the project which will be written by the creators of AMC’s Hell on Wheels: Tony Gayton and Joe Gayton.
