The Purge 4 sets its cast

Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions and Platinum Dunes have set its principal cast for the fourth instalment of The Purge series, the prequel The Purge: The Island.

According to the site, Mo McRae (Pitch), Joivan Wade (Doctor Who), Luna Lauren Velez (How To Get Away With Murder), Steve Harris (The Practice), Patch Darragh (Boardwalk Empire) and Mugga (Orange is the New Black) have all signed on to the film, joining the previously announced Y’lan Noel (Insecure) and Lex Scott Davis (Training Day).

The Purge: The Island is being directed by Gerard McMurray (Burning Sands), with franchise creator James DeMonaco penning the script and producing alongside Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Sébastien K. Lemercier. It is set for release on July 4th 2018.
