J.K. Simmons, Jason Schwartzman, Joan Cusack and Rashida Jones set for animated Santa origin story Klaus

November 21, 2017 by Gary Collinson

The Tracking Board is reporting that J.K. Simmons, Jason Schwartzman, Joan Cusack and Rashida Jones have signed on to lend their voices to Klaus, a new animated feature from Despicable Me writer Sergio Pablos.

The family comedy will mark the directorial debut of Pablos and tells the story of a desperate postman who accidentally brings about the genesis of Santa Claus.

“How is it possible there’s no story about the origin of Santa Claus?” said Pablos. “He’s one of the most well-known and loved characters in the world! We felt this was a story that needed to be told and that there was no better way than with animation.”

Kalus has been written by Pablos, Zach Lewis and Jim Mahoney, and will be distributed globally by Netflix.
