Bad Boys TV pilot gets the green light from NBC

January 21, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in October it was announced that a TV spinoff from the Bad Boys franchise is in development, and now we have word from NBC that the pilot has received the official go ahead.

The as-yet-untitled project is being written and executive produced by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (The Blacklist), and will focus on Syd Burnett, the sister of Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett, played once again by Gabrielle Union who reprises her role from Bad Boys II.

Having given up her life as a DEA agent, Syd is now living in Los Angeles and working as a detective for the LAPD as she pursues all of the pleasures that the City of Angels has to offer. However, things get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna, a working mom who learns that Syd’s unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret.

In addition to starring, Union is serving as an executive producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Morrone, and Doug Belgrad.
