Jeffrey Wright and Luke Wilson join The Goldfinch

January 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios’ The Goldfinch has added two more names to its cast, with Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) and Luke Wilson (Brad’s Status) both signing on to the adaptation of Donna Tartt’s bestselling book.

The Goldfinch is being directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn), and also has Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Willa Fitzgerald (Scream: The TV Series), Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love) and Aneurin Barnard (Dunkirk) on board.

The film sees Elgort as Theodore Decker, a young man who survives a terrorist bombing at an art museum which kills his mother and tumbles through a series of adventures before becoming involved in New York City’s art underworld. Wright is set to play Hobie, who eventually provides a stable life for Theo, while Wilson will portray Theo’s alcoholic, deadbeat father.

The Goldfinch is set for release on October 11th 2019.
