Jeffrey Dean Morgan says it would be a “thrill of a lifetime” to play Batman in Flashpoint

March 13, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has said that it would be a “thrill of a lifetime” to play Batman on film.

The Walking Dead star has appeared as Thomas Wayne in the DC Extended Universe and now is hoping to take up the main job as the Caped Crusader in DC’s Flashpoint movie.

Based on the comic of the same name, thanks to Barry Allen’s time travelling antics, the hero creates an alternate timeline where Thomas, not Bruce, becomes Batman. This is the role Morgan would love to play and has expressed his desire to take up the part to Total Film:

“We’ll see. I mean, look, DC is DC, and they’ll figure out what they’re going to do next. But I’m highly aware of the character, I will say that. I’m highly aware of the character, and it would probably be a thrill of a lifetime to put on the Batsuit.

“And what I know about the Flashpoint Batman is, you know, for me, I think he is not only the darkest of the Batmen, but the coolest. And I love his whole storyline and who he is and the tortured soul of it all.”

While Morgan seems unsure if this will happen, it will certainly please fans to know that an actor feels so passionately about putting on the cowl, especially after a seeming indifference from Ben Affleck who currently has the job.
