Nicolas Cage leads cast of drug trafficking thriller Running With the Devil

March 14, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Following on from yesterday’s news that he is set to voice Superman in the animated DC feature Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, THR is reporting that Nicolas Cage is leading the cast of the cross-border drug trafficking thriller Running With the Devil.

The film is being written and directed by former Navy SEAL Jason Cabell, and sees Cage leading a cast that includes Laurence Fishburne (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Leslie Bibb (The Babysitter), Barry Pepper (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Adam Goldberg (Fargo), Clifton Collins Jr. (Westworld), Cole Hauser (Olympus Has Fallen) and Peter Facinelli (Twilight).

Running With the Devil chronicles a cocaine shipment as it travels from Mexico through the U.S. to Canada. According to the site, “When the shipment is compromised to the dismay of a cartel leader known as The Boss (Pepper), he orders his most trusted Cook (Cage) and another master drug trafficker, The Man (Fishburne), on a dangerous journey to audit the company’s supply chain. The script includes the characters The Farmer (Collins Jr.) ,who works with his wife and children in the jungles of Colombia; The Executioner (Hauser), who helps the Cook and the Man; and The Snitch (Goldberg), who is compromised and threatens to reveal secrets. Also in the mix are Agent in Charge (Bibb) and her Number One (Facinelli), who dog the cartel.”

Cage can currently be seen in UK cinemas in the horror comedy Mom and Dad, and has the sci-fi film The Humanity Bureau and action thriller Mandy on the horizon.
