During an interview with the Radio Times, directors Anthony and Joe Russo have revealed that Fargo and The Leftovers star Carrie Coon is playing the villainous Proxima Midnight in this month’s hugely anticipated Marvel superhero epic Avengers: Infinity War.
Proxima Midnight is part of Thanos’ Black Order – a.k.a. the Children of Thanos – and she is joined by Ebony Maw (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) and Cull Obsidian (Terry Notary). Coon is voicing the character, and also performed motion capture.
Corvus Glaive is now the only member of the Black Order whose casting hasn’t been revealed yet. As it happens, we know who’s portraying the character, but unfortunately we’re sworn to secrecy. All we’ll say is, it isn’t anyone who’s been linked to the film before. Oh, and there’s a DC TV connection.
An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
