Although we still haven’t seen an official image from Warner Bros. and DC Films, a number of high quality spy photos from the set of the DCEU blockbuster Shazam have arrived online over the past few weeks, giving us a clear look at Zachary Levi in costume as the titular superhero.
While very comic accurate, the Shazam costume has come in for criticism from some quarters for its bright, campy design, and now – after being prompted by the fan question “Why the crap suit?” – Levi has taken to social media to address some of the flak, and shared his own opinion that it is “fucking bomb”. Shazam will see Zachary Levi starring as the titular superhero, with Asher Angel as his young alter-ego Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Grace Fulton as Mary Marvel, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana and Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard. The film is set for release on April 5th 2019.
