Emilia Clarke was “relieved” when Terminator Genisys failed

May 24, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Emilia Clarke says that she was “relieved” when Terminator Genisys underperformed.

Terminator is one of those franchises that never seem to die, coming back again and again for another go around. The most recent effort to hit cinemas was the Emilia Clarke starring Genisys, a film which failed to capture significant interest among audiences.

The film’s failure put halt to any plans for a sequel to this particular film and Clarke has now revealed that she was actually “relieved” when the film flopped. Speaking about the subject while promoting her latest film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Clarke told Vanity Fair that the filming process wasn’t an enjoyable one.

Clarke had worked with the director of Genisys before on Game of Thrones but told VF that Alan Taylor got “eaten and chewed up on Terminator. He was not the director I remembered. He didn’t have a good time. No one had a good time.”

The disappointment of Genisys certainly hasn’t hurt Clarke at all, Game of Thrones is as popular as ever going into its final season and Solo will surely find very nice success at the box office.
