13 Reasons Why renewed for third season

June 6, 2018 by Ricky Church

Just a couple weeks after 13 Reasons Why premiered its second season, Netflix has announced it has renewed the series for a third season. Coming in 2019, the series will begin production on 13 new episodes later this year.

Series creator and showrunner Brian Yorkey will return for the third season and will executive produce alongside Joy Gorman, Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, Tom McCarthy, Steve Golin, and Selenza Gomez. The new season will be produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content for Netflix. The series is based on the book of the same name by Jay Asher.

Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of our characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.
