Greg Grunberg teases Snap Wexley return for Star Wars: Episode IX

July 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Despite the fact its due to begin principal photography this summer, we’re yet to have anything in the way of official casting news from Disney and Lucasfilm for Star Wars: Episode IX.

It seems safe to assume that Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) will all be back, while reports have suggested that Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian and Keri Russell (Felicity, Mission: Impossible III) is in talks to reunite with director J.J. Abrams for an “action-heavy” role.

Well, it seems we may be able to add another Abrams regular to that list, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Greg Grunberg teasing the return of X-Wing pilot Snap Wexley during an interview with Yahoo at the San Diego Comic-Con International:

“You know what, we’d better or else my wife is going to kill me for growing a beard. I can’t officially say anything, but this is getting itchy, and I’m getting itchy to go over there and do it.”

Grunberg’s inclusion will come as little surprise given that he’s good friends with Abrams, and the two have worked together on the likes of Felicity, Alias, Lost, Mission: Impossible III, Super 8 and Star Trek.
