Jason Momoa to lead Apple’s sci-fi drama See

July 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in January it was announced that Apple has granted a straight-to-series order for See, a sci-fi drama from writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Eastern Promises) and director Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Red Sparrow), and now comes word that Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been cast in the lead role.

Deadline reports that See is “an epic, world-building drama set in a future when the human race has lost the sense of sight, and society has had to find new ways to interact, to build, to hunt, to survive. All of that is challenged when a set of twins with sight is born.” Momoa is set to portray Baba Voss, described as a fearless warrior, leader and guardian.

Momoa was most recently seen on the small screen in the historical drama series Frontier, and will reprise his Justice League role as Arthur Curry in this December’s DC superhero blockbuster Aquaman. He is also attached to a feature adaptation of the hit video game Just Cause, where he’ll portray the protagonist Rico Rodriguez.
