Lobo comes to Krypton in season 2

July 21, 2018 by Ricky Church

The Superman prequel series Krypton will see another familiar face for DC fans in its second season. At SyFy’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, they announced the big bad of the season would be none other than The Main Man himself Lobo, a galactic mercenary and bounty hunter feared throughout the universe.

Showrunner Cameron Welsh revealed the news along with some new info about what fans can expect for the second season. Following the fallout from the season one finale ‘The Phantom Zone‘, the city of Kandor, and subsequently the planet of Krypton, has been saved from Brainiac’s invasion, but at the great cost of rewriting the future where Superman potentially does not exist. Season two will examine the consequences of this action and will in some ways be a fresh start for the show as the world is redefined.

Lobo is from the peaceful planet Czarnia, but was born with a murderous streak in him. When he was a teenager, he single-handedly wiped out the population of his species and became the last Czarnian. Now he travels across the universe on a motorcycle taking odd jobs that allow him to murder and get paid for it. He has frequently been a thorn in Superman’s side as well as various members of the Justice League. Recently in the comics, he was a a member of the Suicide Squad and even became a member of the Justice League of America. There was even talk recently of Warner Bros. making a Lobo film with Michael Bay producing and possibly even directing the film.
