Netflix renews The End of the F***ing World for second season

August 22, 2018 by Ricky Church

Netflix has decided to renew its teenage dark comedy The End of the F***ing World for a second season. Series creator and writer Charlie Covell will return for the new season, which he will produce alongside Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Dominic Buchanan and Jonathan Entwistle.

The End of The F***king World is based on the graphic novel by Charles S. Forsman and adapted by Charlie Covell. The series follows James (Alex Lawther, Black Mirror) and Alyssa (Jessica Barden, Penny Dreadful)) – a self-proclaimed psychopath and a foul-mouthed rebel fed-up with her boring life. The two teenagers embark on a road trip to find a better life, and escape the impending doom of adulthood. As their chaotic journey unfolds, it becomes apparent that James and Alyssa have crossed a line and have no choice but to take it as far as they can.

The first season was written entirely by Covell and directed by Jonathan Entwistle and Lucy Tcherniak and premiered on Netlifx in January. There is no word on when it will begin production yet.
