Rumour: Oscar Isaac wanted for role in The Batman?

August 28, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With Matt Reeves’ reportedly due to deliver his draft of The Batman to Warner Bros. and DC Films in the very near future, it looks like we may finally get some official news on the Dark Knight’s planned solo movie soon.

In the meantime however, we’ve got another rumour to tide us over, with Omega Underground claiming that Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Operation Finale) has met with Warner Bros. about a role in the movie, and that while an offer is yet to be made, Isaac is said to be very interested.

The site goes on to claim that Isaac – who is currently shooting Star Wars: Episode IX – could be up for the role of the film’s villain (or one of the film’s villains) and that The Penguin is likely to be the main antagonist.

Of course, with Ben Affleck’s involvement still up in the air, it’s also been speculated by fans that Isaac could be under consideration for the role of Batman himself.

Now, as with all rumours, this should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, but let us know in the comics below if you’d be interested in seeing Isaac taking on the role of a DC villain, or even that of The Bat…
