Ryan Reynolds wants Hugh Jackman cameo in X-Force, but not as Wolverine

August 25, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Despite the fact that Hugh Jackman decided to hang up the claws with the release of last year’s Logan, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has stated on a number of occasions that he hopes to tempt the star out of retirement for one more appearance as the fan favourite mutant Wolverine.

While it seems highly unlikely that we’ll get another Jackman appearance as Logan (the actor said back in December that “the ship has sailed” when asked if he’d consider reprising the role for Marvel Studios following the Disney takeover of Fox), it seems that Reynolds has now switched up his tactics in a bid to reunite with his X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star.

Asked by Buzzfeed if he could have anyone from any franchise join the X-Force movie, Reynolds responded: “I’m just going to double-down on Hugh Jackman, but not as Logan, just as Hugh Jackman.”

Jackman does actually exist as a character in the Deadpool universe, so it certainly wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility for him to cameo as himself and would surely offer a humorous moment in what could potentially be 20th Century Fox’s final X-Men movie (unless Fox does manage to push through Deadpool 3 prior to the Disney takeover, as rumoured recently).

Would you like to see Hugh Jackman making a cameo appearance as himself in X-Force? Or if he does appear, would you prefer to see him as Wolverine? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
