Jamie Dornan and Anthony Mackie set for sci-fi thriller Synchronic

September 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War) have been cast as the leads in Synchronic, a sci-fi thriller from directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (The Endless).

THR reports that the film will see Dornan and Mackie playing “two New Orleans paramedics whose lives are ripped apart after a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with bizarre, otherworldly effects.”

“Being huge fans of the nuanced, brilliant work of Anthony and Jamie, this is a filmmaker’s wildest dream come true,” said Benson and Moorhead, whose other credits include Reprisal and Spring.

Dornan will next be seen in HBO’s My Dinner with Herve alongside Peter Dinklage, A Private War with Rosamund Pike and the Taron Egerton-headlined Robin Hood; Mackie meanwhile has The Hate U Give opening in October, and his future projects include Signal Hill, which sees him portraying Johnnie Cochran, as well as The Woman in the Window, Avengers 4 and the second season of Netflix’s Altered Carbon.
